Engaging Video — a Must
Show and sell: engaging video is a must for consumers
Why do consumers want engaging video content?
There are countless businesses that lean heavily on their web presence to drive sales and awareness of their product or service.
But the common denominator is that they all seek to establish a connection with their clients. The good news is that there is no shortage of ways to accomplish this goal. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google ads are just a few ways to do it. We noticed, though, that a new survey from the folks at Animoto claims there is one approach that helps increase sales for just about any business, and that is posting engaging videos.
In the survey they share that video is a significant factor in the buying decision:
- 73 % of all consumers indicate they are more likely to buy after watching videos that explain a product or service
- 96 % of consumers find videos helpful when making buying decisions online
- 71 % of all consumers say watching a video shared by a business gives them a positive impression of the service, brand or company
The benefits of engaging videos to promote services or products are well documented.
Next to Google, Youtube has the second largest search engine on the web. That’s because people are always on the lookout for engaging videos. Cliennts search for videos to teach them about products, customer satisfaction, and the overall impression that the sponsoring company is putting out there. Here are some of the reasons why every biz owner or large corporation product manager should be using engaging videos to promote their brand or products/services.
We have all heard the expression “You only get one chance to make a first impression.”
It’s especially true in the business world. When potential customers mount a search for your product online, they hope to find helpful, informative and engaging videos, They give most people a positive impression of your company. They like engaging videos because they let them have a higher level of confidence when deciding on a purchase. According to the Animoto survey, a staggering 93% of respondents said that videos are helpful in deciding between products, as well as how to best use the product once purchased.
It’s no secret: every business owner realizes that their job does not end after they have made the sale.
Constant engagement and customer support is vital if they want to earn consumer loyalty and repeat business – hallmarks of any great business. That’s another area where businesses find engaging videos to be very helpful. The survey found that videos not only encourage customers to research and purchase more SKUs from the same brand, but they cause a company to be thought of as being more trustworthy. Considering this, most business owners would agree that they can’t afford not to risk NOT having quality video content to support their products.
But since engaging video content is excellent for finding and connecting with potential customers, it does not meant that just any video will do.
Remember, we’re talking about engaging videos. Engaging video content is critical to your success. If your video runs too long, viewers will be frustrated and choose to skip the video altogether. 83 percent of the consumers in this survey reported that the most engaging video for a product or service is five minutes or shorter. Also it is important to organize your video content in a meaningful and straightforward way. As a result, several shorter videos often work better than one lengthy installment.
Creating engaging video content can difficult if you don’t have experience doing them.
